Welcome to Ironwoodforestry.com, we are still in the process of constructing this website, but here is a short summary about us for now .

Ironwood Forestry was founded in 2017 by Eli Jensen for the simple purpose of bidding on local stand exam contracts. It quickly became an innovations company, as Eli continuously focused on efficiency and productivity in field forestry. In 2020, we began pursuing digital solutions for timber sale preparation, which led to an exploration of first LiDAR and then 3D modeling technology.

Now we’re using our diverse skills to address a new mission - workforce development. We have a vision of training 10,000 new foresters. To do that, we need to reimagine how we recruit, train, and educate.

Step 1 is a new tool. Affordable, accessible, and a complete starter kit for practicing forestry. That’s the Ironstick. A reimagination of the classic Biltmore, the Ironstick is streamlined, easier to use, and can also measure direction with an integrated compass as well as basal area in 10 and 20 BAF.

Step 2 is reimagining training and education. Each tool has a QR code. Right now, it leads to a sampler of
3D models from across the country. Eventually… the sky is the limit. We have a vision of making hyper realistic
digital twins of all the forests across the country, so students can learn their species, silviculture, forest
management…. everything… in 3D. Then we want to take these models and make a full fledged training
program using Unreal Engine.

We'll expand our website soon, including a webstore to purchase Ironsticks directly from the website.
