A four-way basal area guage - Basal Area Factors (BAF) 10, 20, 30, and 40. Held at 24” from your eye with a stainless steel chain (included), this tool functions similar to any other basal area gauge. Held with your eye over plot center, any tree that is wider than the end of the tool held at the full length of the chain (24”) is “in” and multiplied by the chosen BAF.
Under each BAF is the plot radius factor (PRF) for that BAF for easy reference when doing limiting distance calculations.
